Interest in the origins of the 15th Dynasty and the presence and influence of Levantines ain the late Middle Kingdom gave rise to this study of 35 monuments (34 stelae and a shrine), all from Abydos from the 12th to mid-13th Dynasty. All texts on these monuments use the term aAm / aAm.t when referring to persons from the north-east. The detailed analysis assesses the presence of Asiatics / Levantines in Abydos in this very early phase of the Second Intermediate Period.
