The site of Mut el-Kharab in the Dakhla oasis has a long occupation history from the Early Dynastic to the Islamic period. The focus of the article is on the ceramic corpus dating to the New Kingdom, including amphorae and bread moulds, beer jars and painted vessels. Their dates are corroborated by decorated architectural blocks dating to Thutmose III, Horemheb, Ramesses II and Ramesses IV. The site is of importance for its evidence of New Kingdom activity in the western desert in general.
