In the recent project, Macquarie University in collaboration with the IFAO, the CNRS and the Oriental Institute (University of Chicago) have worked at the site of Dendera to re-examine and asses the social context of the natural and social landscape. The article reports on the investigation of the earliest part of the pharaonic cemetry (late 3rd to early 4th Dyansty), the Abu Suten group of mastabas, an early Middle Kingdom 'shaft group' tomb and three early Roman tombs.
