Four types of scenes are analysed where a dominating pharaoh interacts with a subdued enemy: (1) smiting the enemy, (2) trampling the enemy, (3) th elion-king immobilizing the enemy and (4) the Egyptian lion devouring the enemy. A lexicographical analysis of relevant ancient texts accompanies the iconographic study.
