Among the many examples of close interconnections between Egypt and its neighbours during the Late Bronze Age contemporary with the NK, the author concentrates on the subject of copper, as it is the most important metal in the Bronze Age and, thus, of great economic value. For a better understanding of the techniques and the scale of mining activities he takes a closer look at three areas: Serabit el-Khadim as well as the Maghara region comprising Wadi Nasib and Wadi Kharib, both in the Sinai, and the mines and the workshop "Site 30" at Timna (Wadi Araba).
