Preliminary report on the main aspects of the Australian excavations in the Early Dynastic cemetery at Helwan. The majority of the artefacts, mostly pottery but also stone vessels, recovered so far in the tombs date to the Naqada III Period and do not extend beyond the early 3rd Dynasty. The pottery probably ended up as debris and construction fill of the Early Dynastic structures. (OEB)
