Brief report of the 1989 season of the EES at Memphis. This report only deals with the work in the Ptah temple work. Final epigraphic and architectural work was done, because the low water levels allowed access to certain areas and features of the West Gate, which was never before adequately cleared and recorded. The detailed planning of the three entrances at the West Gate revealed alterations and additions to the actual structure of the monument, which could be associated with an overall change in the nature of the entire structure. Further, the author discusses some blocks and sculptural fragments which were found. (OEB)
