Scenes of battle and warfare are rare in the Old Kingdom iconography in private tombs. The study analyses the iconographic elements of two examples of scenes depicting a siege - from the tombs of Kaiemheset (Saqqara), Inti (Deshasheh) - and discusses thesignificance and historicity of non-royal battle scenes.
