The 2011 field season at Deir Abu Metta, Dakhleh Oasis

The work contineud at the site of the ancient Coptic church of Deir Abu Metta. The aim for the season was to further explore and plan the builsing beneath the church and to establish the eastern extent of the structures and the cemetery to the north of the church, and to extend the investigation to the West Buildings. Among the finds in the West Buildings were a ceramic lamp, pots, a coin and 14 Coptic ostraca. All the ceramics recovered date from the 4th to the 6th centuries AD.
