The Hereafter: ancient Egyptian beliefs with special reference to the Amduat

After briefly presenting the Ancient Egyptian view of the world and basic characteristics of Egyptian beliefs concerning the Hereafter as background to the Amduat, the author describes the sun-god's journey through the twelve hours of the night as conceived in the Amduat (vignettes included here).
