The excavations at Ismant el-Kharab and Mut el-Kharab in 2004

At Ismant el-Kharab excavations were conducted at the Northern Tomb Group, mainly on Tombs 5-7 and 16, as well as on West Tomb 3. At Mut el-Kharab, four trenches were opened (Trenches 12--15). Substantial quantities of ceramics from the 27th Dynasty were recovered, among them Bes-vases and imported Levantine amphorae.
