Within feeling not-good-enough there are two types of experience. The first is the chronic experience, where feeling not-good-enough is an ongoing filter to perception, from which there is no escape or resolution. Here people’s experience of their sense of worth is damaged. The second is the episodic experience in which feeling not-good-enough is an episode that occurs, and for which there is always resolution, and people’s experience of their sense of worth is restored. A narrative description of the whole phenomenon is given through the two types of experience, the chronic and the episodic.
