Fluid structure interaction of FSI testing has the potential to greatly increase the efficiency of various designs that are in close interaction with a fluid, as it showcases the direct influence of the fluid flow on structural elements of a system. There is however a lack of experimental data that can be used to validate the results obtained from FSI testing, in turn leading to uncertainty in the results. This thesis reviews the process of FSI testing to create a wind tunnel experiment of a flexible wing that will be utilised to generate deflection data on a wing, forces acting on the wing, as well as the effects that a deformed wing shape has on its overall performance, in terms of lift and drag.
