Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is widely used technology in the wireless communication environment because of its effective techniques in mitigating the multipath problem. OFDM is one of the most popular tecnologies in the communications systems fiel;d due to the high performance that it provides without getting distortion from inter-symbol-interference (ISI). In the past, however, multicarrier transmission was distorted by inter-carrier-interface because the subcarrier was non-overlapping to avoid this phenomenon, which can negatively affect the performance of the system. On the other hand, the OFDM system is now playing an important role in the multicarrier transmission environment because of the orthogonality that OFDM carriers provide, which can prevent the inter carrier interface to occur as the subcarriers overlap in frequency domains. Furthermore, four simulations have been finalised in this project in order to test and compare the achievable performance over different fading and noise channels. Lastly, this report will outline and discuss the outcome of this project, as well as comparing the simulation results with different modulation schemes.
